Explore MyLocalAds for venuesWhat a play is
A play means the ad ran on the screen. It does not mean someone saw it or bought something.
That sentence sits on every report, dashboard and proof-of-play page. Every number you see is a count of verified plays, each matched to a decision our servers made for that screen and moment.
- 1 price
- per play, set per screen by Metcash. No audience numbers, no rate cards.
- 2 hours
- for a person to review your ad, counted in Sydney business hours.
- 40%
- of what a screen earns goes to the venue that hosts it, every fortnight.
- 0 cameras
- and no tracking of any kind. Screens count plays, never people.
Physical advertising, as easy as digital.
Decisioning, review, playback and reporting in a single, isolated backend, built for a few screens or a few hundred.
Real-time decisions
Every play is decided on the server in under a second. The winning ad pays the screen's price per play, a floor Metcash sets per screen; Boost only matters on a busy screen.
Venue content fills the gaps
No paid ad for a slot? The venue's own content and house content play instead, so a screen is never dark and never wasted.
Reviewed by a person
Nothing runs until Metcash approves it: advertiser campaigns as a whole, venue and house content per ad. Approve, reject with a note, or pause in one place.
Verified plays
Each play is logged and matched to a decision. Advertisers see exactly where and when their ad ran, down to the play.
Your data stays yours
Every venue and advertiser is fully walled off. Competitors can never see your campaigns, your plays, or what you pay.

Questions, answered.
What is MyLocalAds?
MyLocalAds puts local businesses and brands on TV screens inside nearby venues: cafés, gyms, clinics, bottle shops, barbers and corner stores. Advertisers book plays from one account, venues earn a share of what their screens make, and Metcash reviews every ad and runs the network.
Who can advertise through MyLocalAds?
MyLocalAds is built for local businesses, consumer brands, product suppliers, agencies and other businesses that want their ad on screens in nearby venues. Campaign availability can depend on the venues, screens and advertising category you select.
How does MyLocalAds pricing work?
You pay a price per play set per screen. Most advertisers pay that price; Boost only matters on a busy screen. The price per play is the screen's floor, set by Metcash. There is no rate card: you set a daily and a total budget, and you never pay more per play than the price you agreed to.
Do advertisers need to contact each venue?
No. MyLocalAds lets advertisers book screens in participating venues through one platform and one account, rather than arranging separate campaigns with each venue. You choose where you want to appear, set your budget and dates, upload your ad once, and the platform handles delivery across the selected screens.
How do screens connect to MyLocalAds?
A MyLocalAds TV Stick plugs into the venue's TV and runs an offline-first player. You pair a screen to a venue from the console by generating a pairing code and entering it on the TV Stick; from then on it pulls its schedule and reports every play automatically, and keeps playing through internet dropouts, catching up when it reconnects.
Can venues control which ads run in their venue?
Yes. Venues can block whole advertising categories or specific competing advertisers, keep screens right for their customers, and set their trading hours so ads only play, and only cost anything, while the venue is open. On top of that, a person at Metcash reviews and approves every ad before it can run: advertiser campaigns are reviewed as a whole, and venue and house content is reviewed per ad.
Can venues keep showing their own content?
Yes. A venue can add its own content and promotions, and they run between paid plays. When there is nothing paid to show, house content fills the gap, so a screen is never blank. Venue content is managed through the platform rather than self-scheduled, which keeps the loop and the screen experience consistent.
How do advertisers know their ad ran?
Every play is matched to a decision made on the server for that screen and time, then logged with the screen, the time and the price. Advertisers see exactly where and when each ad ran, down to the individual play. A play means the ad ran on the screen. It does not mean someone saw it or bought something.
How are venues paid?
Venues keep a share of the advertising revenue from their screens: 40% of eligible revenue by default. Payouts are made fortnightly from the same verified plays that advertisers are billed for, and earnings are visible in the MyLocalAds console and the MyLocalAds Venue app.
Is MyLocalAds secure and isolated?
Yes. MyLocalAds is multi-tenant with row-level security on every table, so each workspace's data is fully isolated, and competitors can't see your campaigns, plays or pricing. Human review is mandatory and enforced in the database, TV Stick credentials are stored in encrypted device storage, and play records are deduplicated. There are no cameras, no Wi-Fi or Bluetooth tracking and no shopper identifiers.
